By EFC (Requested to add by Rev. Chhon Kong). Can be read at EFC wesite, http://www.efc.org.kh
A dream that Christians throughout the Cambodia have been anticipating for has now gradually emerged into existence that is the MK 2021.?In the morning of June 04, 2008, the interim organizing committee of the MK 2021 facilitated an extraordinary meeting at the AOG Bible institute Cambodia.
Rev. Heng Cheng, general secretary of EFC, officially commenced the meeting and welcomed all delegates who attended at the meeting; all delegates were members of EFC, representatives of other councils, NGOs, churches, Bible training institute and para-churches. And then, he asked every representative to introduce themselves to the meeting. There were 77 delegates who came to the meeting. Each task group has raised significant prayer requests for the victims who were attached by the hurricane in Burma and the earthquake victims in China, where they currently lack of clean and drinking water, shelter, medicine and food. After that, the organizing committee has shared detailed information concerning the vision and aim of the 밠K 2021?that this ministry is originally initiated by the indigenous church, and has been facilitating and supporting by DAWN International, which by the year 2021 we want to see every village has a church planted there with tremendous potential and impact to their community where the church is able help the community eliminate violence, sexual abuse, and drug usage, and the church is to promote education and development in their community, as well. Then, Mr. Teng Saroeun, from Samaritan뭩 Purse, presented the researched statistics from 2007 and the plans to develop church mapping system online in cooperation with the church in Thailand and Malaysia. Rev. Heng Cheng and Mr. Philip Scott strongly encouraged other councils to partake in the current MK 2021 committee in order to jointly fulfill the MK 2021. Please be noticed that MK 2021 does NOT belong to any particular group or denomination but it genuinely belongs to the Cambodian Christians! H.E Molyvan Ung, advisor to the council of the minister of the cabinet, encouraged all delegates to stand firm in faith in the Lord. He also added in his speech about the recommendation of the Samdech Hun Sen, Prime Minister of the Kingdom of Cambodia, that the Ministry of Cults and Religion is to help coordinate processing the paperwork for registration with the ministry which is applied by all religious groups in Cambodia.
Before the meeting was ended, there was a panel of question and answer. The panel helped the participants greatly in knowing more clearly and deeply concerning the purpose of MK 2021. Finally, Rev. Heng Cheng informed the participants regarding the MK 2021 national Christian congress, which will be held from May 27-29, 2009, where Christians from all denominations, councils, NGOs, churches, para-churches, and international churches will be participated. The meeting was successfully and joyfully finished at 12 pm. And then, Pastor Kong Ponchhon, Chairman of the Board of Director of EFC, prayed to close the meeting, and participants had an opportunity to fellowship and have lunch together, as well.
